‘kind of like a kids tv show for adults’ is how the pacific northwest’s premier hip hop puppeteers, The Fungineers first described themselves to me when they approached me to design their album artwork and then apply the same subtle approach to their website, which is now live so you can work out for yourself what it is exactly that they do. Just put on some shades first…

I’ve finally got around to uploading to vimeo ,a select few of the animations that I’ve provided illustrations for over the past year for some pretty varied clients. Although none are in my ‘There Will Be unicorns’ style, and therefore fall foul of my own strict door policy for this side of my portfolio, I’m still pretty happy with them.
Jonsi – Gathering Sories
A music video for Columbia Records/ Sigur Ros frontman, Jonsi’s track ‘Gathering Sories’ taken from the soundtrack to Cameron Crow’s Film ‘ We bought A zoo’. Crush provided me with the character designs and a breakdown of the action and I gave them a fully worked up storyboard and all artwork for animation.

The Apothecary
A book trailer for Penguin NY, directed by Crush. I provided all visuals/ artwork for animation and a fully styled storyboard.

Youth Employment
An animated ad for the Youth Employment Trust to generate awareness of global youth employment, directed by O-Motion. Again, I provided all visuals/ artwork for animation and a fully styled storyboard.

Point Inside
An animated explanation of the myriad benefits of Point Insides’ in store mapping and mobile e-commerce services, directed by O-Motion and myself. All visuals by yours truly.

Just got back from a most excellent week shredding the gnar with the good folk of Ilovedust. I remained uninjured throughout, which I consider I great success.

Just as I was shutting down for the festive break, Saatchi & Saatchi handed me a nice, fun brief to illustrate the cover of Marketing magazine. Thus keeping the crap tv and saturates at bay for a little while longer. It looks like this…

Merry Boxing Day, to all who, like myself, are still working. I salute you comrade. Wear your pallid, midwinter complexion and accompanying under-eye swelling with pride.
It’s been a crazy busy end to the year and I shall soon be updating the site with some choice graphical produce for the likes of Droga5 and Saatchi & Saatchi amongst others . For now, here’s a christmas stocking.

Mac User magazine very kindly got in touch with me to do a short interview and portfolio show-and-tell for this months issue. There’s five whole pages of me, like some kind of fan-boy centrefold.

Getting pretty intimate with adobe illustrator for a rather large ad campaign I’m working on presently.

A little editorial in this week’s Guardian’s independent bookshops supplement. All about a science fiction bookshop in Edinburgh. I’m no expert, but as far as I’m aware there are only two visual memes within the context of ’science fiction’ and I will pipp for ‘camp-50’s/60’s’ over ‘The Matrix’ any day.

My new promos arrived this week, in readyness to be sent out to everybody that’s anybody whether they like it or not. Should you be lucky enough to receive one without even asking, then congratulations, you’ve made it. If not, then keep reaching for the stars and please contact AgencyRush or myself directly if you’d like one.

A hugely generous amount of coverage in this month’s Digital Arts magazine. The issue is all about colour, hence the inclusion of half my portfolio in the headline feature ( I’ve never used a pastel shade in my life and nor do i intend to! ), alongside such talent as La Boca and Alice Stevenson amongst others. Thanks to Eva Peaty for the exposure.
